ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Discusses U.S. Insurance Investment Landscape and Regulatory Efforts
On June 5, Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner and ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ (ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ) Financial Condition (E) Committee Chair Nathan Houdek joined the panel "Powering Savings and Growth: Insurers and Investors" at Insurance Europe's 15th Annual Conference in Brussels, Belgium.
Panelists reviewed the current changing investment landscape for insurers and how regulators are working to capture those changes.
In his remarks, Commissioner Houdek highlighted the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ's ongoing work to reexamine its financial oversight in light of current investment trends, including updates to the accounting standards, as well as the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ's recent Risk-Based Capital modernization project. He also stressed the importance of international collaboration in this area, as investment markets are expanding across borders.
