ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Welcomes State Legislators and Other Government Officials for 14th Annual Event
TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 12, 2022) - As the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ (ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ) kicks off its 2022 Fall National Meeting, the organization is welcoming over 20 state officials for its 14th Annual State Legislator and Government Official Program, which will take place on Monday, December 12, through Wednesday, December 14.
Invited by their state departments of insurance, the legislators and officials will participate in sessions specifically designed to foster critical relationships, provide more information on the state-based insurance regulatory system, encourage discussion on regulatory and policy developments, and offer an overview of the many services the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ offers to the states.
On Tuesday, participating commissioners and state legislators will engage in an open dialogue on timely insurance issues, followed by a series of informational breakout sessions covering the role of the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ and its current priorities and initiatives. The program will conclude at a Wednesday morning breakfast hosted by the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council.

As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ (ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers. The U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews, and coordinate regulatory oversight. ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ staff supports these efforts and represents the collective views of state regulators domestically and internationally.
